Rob Beekers becomes Chair of CBE JU Governing Board
Chair of the BIC Board Rob Beekers was elected Chair of the Circular Biobased Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) Governing Board for a period of two years in the Governing Board’s meeting on 14 December. He was previously the Vice-Chair of the CBE JU Governing Board and is currently the Chair of the BIC Governance Board.
Rob Beekers is the Business Development Director at the Bio Industrial Group of Cargill. He has held various positions in sales, supply chain, business development and general management within the Cargill Group since 1996. In his current post since 2019, Rob focuses on driving growth initiatives through internal development projects and external partnerships. Rob has been BIC Chairman since May 2022.
Rob is taking over from John Bell, Director for Healthy Planet in DG Research & Innovation of the European Commission, who has served as Chair of the CBE JU Governing Board since December 2021. John will now continue as Vice-Chair of the Board.
The CBE JU is a €2 billion partnership between the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) that funds projects advancing competitive circular bio-based industries in Europe.
